Jewish youths entered the village of Burqin in Samaria and torched 5 vehicles, May 23, 2025.

Following the shocking attack in northern Samaria, in which a pregnant Jewish woman in her ninth month, Tzeela Gez, was murdered on her way to the maternity ward, about 40 young people descended on the village of Burqin overnight Friday and set fire to five vehicles and two gardens. There were no casualties or arrests, and the youths left the village shortly afterward.

The Red Crescent reported that its teams treated eight individuals for burn injuries sustained during the arson attacks in Burqin. All injuries were treated on-site.

According to the PA news agency WAFA, citing local sources, a group of Jewish settlers entered the Baqa’an neighborhood on the outskirts of the Burqin and set fire to approximately five homes and five vehicles. Additional homes were reportedly targeted with stones.

As the fires spread, local residents issued urgent calls for assistance over mosque loudspeakers in an effort to contain the blazes and prevent further damage.

Following the attack, security forces launched a manhunt for the terrorist, sealing off entrances to multiple villages in the area and surrounding the villages of Burqin and A-Diq.

Two days ago, the IDF announced it had killed the terrorist responsible for last week’s deadly shooting on Tzeela Gez. Additionally, two suspects were arrested for questioning. According to the military, the terrorist approached soldiers carrying a suspected booby-trapped bag, prompting the soldiers to open fire in response to an immediate threat. Subsequent investigation confirmed that the deceased was the attacker who fired on Tzeela Gez, and the weapons used in the assault were found inside the bag he carried.
