Raphael Werner, chairman of the Flemish Forum of Jewish Organizations, told the committee that the situation in Europe was much worse than what is being reported, and he estimated that within 20 years Antwerp would have an Arab mayor. Many Jews who did not initially plan on immigrating to Israel will do so within a short period of time, Werner said, while calling to ease the bureaucratic hurdles for immigrants trying to obtain a professional license and make it less complicated for them to deal with banks, gas companies and government offices.
