“Leftists want their internationalism in the form of riots and terrorism…”

Remember when there was a nationwide hue and cry deploring the crudeness and violence in movies and on television? Even cartoon violence such as Roadrunner vs. Wile E. Coyote, where characters could be run over or fall from a cliff without being injured, was criticized as a harmful influence on children.
Our popular culture now glorifies violence, however – provided it’s committed by the right people against the appropriate (in their opinion) people. Simply speaking, the Left follows Lenin’s doctrine of “Who does what to whom?” – namely, the morality of any action depends not on any universal standard, but rather on who is dishing out and who is receiving.
Their guidelines, as delineated by Dennis Prager, are:
- White people bad, people of color good.
- Male bad, female good.
- Rich bad, poor good.
- Jews and Christians bad, Muslims good.
- And above all, Orange Man bad.
Jonathan Tobin has expressed the fear that radicals who approve Palestinian violence against Jews may be moved to engage in domestic terrorism themselves. No sooner than he wrote his article (on JNS.org), a pro-Palestinian activist, Elias Rodriguez, cruelly shot and killed two Israeli diplomats, a couple about to become engaged, at the Capital Jewish Museum, an act which was celebrated around the world.
And judging from the terse “no comment” from Representative Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib’s hosting an anti-Israel protest days earlier that included Palestine Action U.S., a group that described the murders as “the rightful execution of the two Nazi pigs,” there appear to be “progressive” Democrats on Capitol Hill who tacitly approve. In fact, the “Liberation Caucus,” a self-described “Marxist-Leninist-Maoist caucus within Democratic Socialists of America,” an organization to which AOC and Omar belong, added their name to a statement hailing Rodriguez as a “political prisoner” and his heinous act as ‘righteous,’” as reported by Cole Harrison in Patriot Journal.
Considering the factors that inspired Rodriguez, just one day after the massacre of over 1,200 Israelis, our Leftist and Islamist enemies cleverly launched a propaganda campaign – with great success – even before Israel had retaliated, aimed at presenting the Hamas murderers as victims of Israeli genocide. Instead of our receiving sympathy in the wake of the worst antisemitic atrocities since the Holocaust, support for Jew-hatred has multiplied around the world. Even in the United States, polls show antisemitism has doubled since October 7. Though we are between two and three percent of the population, we have been the object of more than 50% of hate crimes, such as the recent flamethrower and Molotov cocktail attack in Boulder, Colorado by an illegal Egyptian immigrant screaming “Free Palestine” which burned 12 elderly Jewish Americans, one critically, who were peacefully calling for the release of hostages held by Hamas. (The local media covered for him by omitting any implication of antisemitism.)
Hamas has taken advantage of the fact that millions of people accept their fabrications because they want to believe the worst about Jews, a phenomenon known as confirmation bias. Polls show that Democratic voters favor Hamas 59% to 21% over Israel, while strong majorities of Republicans and Independents still favor Israel.
The Leftist-Islamist alliance has opposed any effort to curb their propensity for acts of violence. In particular, they have adopted four heartthrobs, identified, among others, by Daily Signal’s Ed Perrotta and by Victor Davis Hanson, as:
- Luigi Mangione, the accused assassin of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, whom he shot in the back because, Mangione said, he didn’t like the healthcare system. He reportedly has a following of female admirers who gather around the courthouse.
- Kalman Anthony, a teenager who went to a sports event carrying a concealed knife, sat in the opposing team’s cheering section and antagonized other teenage spectators; when one of them objected, Anthony pulled out his knife and stabbed the victim fatally in the heart. A GiveSendGo account set up for the killer has raised over $455,000, enabling him to post bail and rent a $900,000 house and a vehicle.
- Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an alleged MS-13 gang member, alleged human trafficker, and wife-beater. This illegal immigrant was deported under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to his native El Salvador but was recently returned to face criminal charges. Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen, followed by other members of Congress, even flew to El Salvador in an effort to secure his release, misidentifying him as a “Maryland man,” while avoiding meeting with the mother of a victim murdered by an illegal immigrant.
- Mahmoud Khalil, a pro-Hamas-protest-leading Columbia University student whose deportation is sought because, according to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, his actions, though legal, impaired government efforts to combat antisemitism and to protect Jewish students from harassment and violence. A federal judge in New Jersey has ruled that Khalil’s free speech lawsuit can proceed.
- Another Columbia University encampment leader, Khymani James, the student spokesman for CUAD (Columbia University Apartheid Divest), a front group for the college’s suspended Students for Justice in Palestine chapter, was hailed by the Boston Globe in 2021. The Daily Wire quotes him as saying that Zionists don’t deserve to live, and that he can justify assassinating Prime Minister Netanyahu so “many other people can live.”
Even more alarming is a report in Post Millenial that “Antifa accounts are sharing a guide [from Anarchist Federation News] on how to make incendiary devices that will burn cables used in infrastructure, like on train tracks.” Unlike January 6, this is a true insurrection in the making.
In addition, support for Hamas terrorists swept across America, especially from high school and college students, who staged demonstrations chanting slogans such as “Only one solution, intifada revolution” (translation: Kill the Jews) and “From the river to the seam Palestine will be free,” as well as blocking Jewish students and their supporters from entering buildings. This is a frightening development, since these student Bolsheviks will be the next ruling generation of the U.S. Supporting them are K-12 teachers, the media, even corporate executives, besides college professors and administrators from the previous woke generations produced since the Left took control of our elite universities.
Most notably, Harvard recently rewarded two students who assaulted Jewish students, one with a $65,000 fellowship, the other with an honorary title of marshal at the Divinity School graduation. And Daniel Greenfield wrote in Front Page Magazine that “A few days after the anniversary of Oct. 7, The New York Times reported that Columbia University Apartheid Divest officially endorsed terrorism against Jews and withdrew an apology by one of its members for threatening to kill Jews… The same Democrat politicians who had remained silent when Jewish students and faculty were being terrorized on campuses in their areas now rushed to the barricades for a member of a group that had openly celebrated the murder of Jews.”
Meanwhile, a high school English teacher in Maine posted rants on Facebook calling upon the military and the Secret Service to assassinate President Trump, his aides, and his supporters. When this became public, she was unapologetic, merely clarifying that she advocated killing Trump’s top aides, not all Republicans.
What’s even more disturbing is the tacit encouragement of violence given by center-left politicians such as Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, who spoke in New Hampshire calling for “mass protests, for mobilization, for disruption” against the Trump administration such that “Republicans shouldn’t know a moment of peace,” and then denied accusations that he was promoting violence. Moreover, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth approved promoting to Pentagon Press Secretary Kingsley Wilson, who has made multiple antisemitic social media posts and questioned American military aid for Israel. And now a New Jersey Congresswoman has been charged with assaulting and interfering with ICE officers at a detention facility for illegal immigrants.
At the same time, federal, state, and local prosecutors and judges are giving perpetrators of political violence the proverbial slap on the wrist. For example, as reported by Patriot Political, “A 19-year-old college student who allegedly firebombed two Tesla Cybertrucks will avoid jail time after his public defender convinced a Massachusetts judge that detention would disrupt his ongoing gender transition treatments… Instead of remaining behind bars while awaiting trial for the serious federal charges, McIntire [the defendant] has been released to home detention at his parents’ Missouri residence…”
More broadly, the criminal justice system has become weaponized. As we know, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who twisted the law to turn what was at most a misdemeanor reporting error into 34 felony charges against Donald Trump, by contrast declined to prosecute Columbia University student rioters on the lame excuse that because they wore masks, they could not be positively identified. (The Israeli development of technology that can “see through” masks to construct the facial features of the wearer may invalidate this excuse.) Further, race-based sentencing is under consideration both in the U.S. and the U.K.; the British had to back down on instituting such a system after widespread public protest.
Meanwhile, American Liberty News reported that “A federal judge in Texas has approved a class action lawsuit filed by Venezuelan nationals who were detained and deported under the Alien Enemies Act (AEA), a law invoked by the Trump administration. The lawsuit contends that the administration’s actions violated due process rights and exceeded the scope of the AEA. In addition to certifying the class, Judge Rodriguez previously issued a temporary restraining order preventing further removals in the Southern District of Texas and later expanded that order.”
Another federal judge has ruled that the Border Patrol can’t stop anyone at the border without getting an arrest warrant, necessitating a court hearing, while a judge in Milwaukee was arrested by the FBI for enabling an illegal immigrant charged with three offenses to escape from her courtroom as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrived to arrest him. (She too has become a hero.)
So the globalized intifada has arrived in America, threatening to turn us into the world’s foremost banana republic. As the saying goes, the Founders must be turning over in their graves.
