The Willful Blindness of the Israeli Left

When an Israeli peacenik is attacked, he is instantly willing to forgive. When an Arab liberal is attacked, he is instantly drawn to revenge, even if it takes generations.
Arabs in East Jerusalem. The idea that Arab violence will end if Israel withdraws to the 1949 armistice lines is willful blindness of the worst kind.

“I have a 4-year-old at home,” answered Samach from Abu Dis (near Jerusalem). “If God forbid something should happen to him, I will go and burn an entire Israeli city, if I can.” All the other Palestinian participants nodded their heads in agreement to his harsh words.

When an Israeli peacenik is attacked, he is instantly willing to forgive. When an Arab liberal is attacked, he is instantly drawn to revenge, even if it takes generations.

Real peace is impossible. All the Daniel Seidemanns in the world willing to work to help all the Palestinian Arabs in the world will not bring them one step closer to accepting Israel’s existence. Believing otherwise is not moral – it is delusional. And it will result in more attacks, more terror and more deaths, not less.

    They are IDIOTS !

  2. Bear Klein says:

Some people prefer pretend answers (wishful thinking) when questions have no easy answers.

Typical leftist question is okay if no two state solution what then is the answer to peace? When you tell them that the two state solution will not bring peace but war they sometimes still cling to the two state solution because their are no easy answers to the conflict.

    at last-someone gets it

  4. This is one of the reasons why I dislike labels so much – I am a liberal, but I shudder in horror at being lumped in with people who are this ragingly self-deluded. The hope is for a peace that everyone can accept, but they need to accept that reality rarely accomodates ones hopes. Sigh.

  5. Did Ishmael ever make peace with Isaac, did he not also make Isaac's life miserable as Isaac is the son of the promise and the legitimate heir, see why they want to do away with Israel. as G-d said the son of the bond woman shall not inherit with the son of the promise. Isaac and his descendants.

  6. Very sad indeed. Thank you Jewish people for the heart you have of not revenging on what people do to you. Teach us also to love our enemies.

  7. Keith David Reitman says:

I get it…and agree. Peacenik delusions are not helpful. One would think a blinding rock to the kopf would instill some insight.
