A lead IDF delegation of experts in the fields of search, rescue and medicine has left for the Philippines, which was struck by Typhoon Haiyan. The rescuers are part of the IDF’s Home Front Command.

The rescuers will perform a thorough situation assessment, including an infrastructure evaluation that will determine the best rapid response the IDF can provide to the Government of the Philippines.

  1. Thank you for your quick response! I would ask that the IDF post any needs that it has in regards to the disaster in Tacloban and other cities of the central Philippines. That will make financial support easier for the rest of us that would love to help. Many are getting ready to help but are still not sure what is needed. I have a feeling that this is going to be a 24 hour a day job for quite a while.
