Israeli startup E8 Storage has been acquired by the mammoth Amazon ecommerce firm, according to Globes, Reuters and CNBC.

The Ramat Gan-based software company builds storage hardware that employs flash-based memory to deliver faster performance that its competitors.

The company, founded in 2014 by Alex Friedman, Zivan Ori and Ziv Serlin, has raised $18 million to date.

The E8 team and technology will move in to the existing Amazon Web Services development center in Tel Aviv, according to sources quoted by TechCrunch.
