Police and medics treat terrorist who was shot after trying to stab a guard at the light rail.

An Arab terrorist was shot and injured shortly before noon Monday when he tried to stab one or more people at the French Hill light rail station in Jerusalem.

A light rail guard said the terrorist tried to attack him from behind with a knife. The guard was able to shoot the terrorist, 35 years old, in the leg before the attacker was able to harm him or anyone else.

As usual, officials have not officially concluded it was a terrorist attack and are questioning the light rail guard. The knife-wielding Arab was treated at the scene for moderate injuries and has been evacuated to a Jerusalem hospital.

The light rail station has been the site of several stabbing and hit-and-run attacks by Jerusalem Arabs.
