Construction of a new neighborhood in the town of Migron, some 14 kilometers north of Jerusalem, began this past Thursday with a ceremonial brick-laying at the site.

Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein was there for the festivities.

“I did not come here to convince anyone about our rights in the land of Israel, I came here with mixed feelings of happiness from laying the cornerstone, alongside the great sadness of the difficult evacuation five years ago,” Edelstein said.

“We are here, first and foremost, thanks to the families of Migron that did not give up,” he added.
