The Turkel Committee responsible for clearing senior appointment has cleared Gadi Eizenkott to become Israel’s next Chief of Staff.
The approval was expected. Eizenkott has not been involved in any known questionable incidents. He is to replace IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz in February.

He will be Israel’s second oriental Jew to head the IDF, several years after Shaul Mofaz commanded the military.
