Floods hit northern Israel on Monday due to the heavy rains across the region, sending a torrent of water rushing across villages in some of the most vulnerable areas.

Many Galilee villages were flooded due to their poor infrastructure, including Sakhnin, Akko, Tamra and Kabul. Alleys and roads in the villages turned into racing rivers (see the video below) that rushed past properties and sometimes dragged vehicles and trash cans along for the ride.

Among the roads that were blocked due to floods was Route 90, a major north-south artery connecting Kiryat Shmonah with Eilat.

Mount Hermon again received snow, and reservoirs on the Golan Heights used for agricultural purposes managed to inch their way up to 50 percent capacity.
