Israeli searchers have recovered the body of 21-year-old Yerachmiel Yeshayahu of Jerusalem at the bottom of a cliff near the northern shore of the Dead Sea.

Yeshayahu had fallen from the 100-foot (30 meter) cliff after hiking in the Judean Desert near the Samar wadi around Mitzpe Shalem.

Israel Police, the elite IDF 669 Search and Rescue Unit and the local Megilot Rescue Unit searched for hours until they found his body.

Three other hikers were also found by the rescuers; they were treated at the scene for mild injuries and then brought out with ropes and stretchers.
