“Our fighter jets and helicopters struck a number of Hamas targets in central Gaza,” said the IDF Spokesperson, “in response to the explosive balloons that were launched from Gaza earlier tonight and damaged an Israeli home.”

A cluster of balloons were attached to an improved explosive device that blew up in mid-air in front of a Jewish home in the Eshkol Regional Council district.

Miraculously, no one was physically injured in the attack, although a home was damaged in the explosion.

Members of Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist organizations evacuated from their headquarters and outposts in anticipation of air strikes by Israeli fighter pilots, according to Israeli and Arab media reports.

“The IDF views with great severity any attempt to harm Israeli citizens and will continue to act vigorously against these phenomena,” the IDF Spokesperson said.

“The Hamas terrorist organization bears responsibility for everything that is happening in and out of the Gaza Strip and for all the consequences of terrorist activities originating in the Gaza Strip.”
