Gaza’s Hamas terrorist organization is still actively waging war against the State of Israel; the group is currently making plans on how to proceed, according to Defense Minister Israel Katz, who revealed the information Wednesday in remarks to the fighters of Squadron 916 during a visit to the Israel Navy base in Ashdod following a stop at the ISA (Shin Bet) headquarters.

“There is no entity that cannot be subdued,” Katz commented. However, he said, “we must win.”

“All Hamas is doing right now is sitting and updating targets in communities near the border through all sorts of sources that provide it with information – the Iranians and others,” Katz warned.

“Hamas is also now making plans on how to proceed, so it is clear we must win here; we must make sure that [Hamas] will not be here.”

Katz noted that since the start of the war, the Navy fighters have been an essential element of the state’s security by enforcing the naval blockade and providing aid to ground forces in observation and “the use of fire and lethality against the Hamas terrorist organization.”

During his visit, Katz boarded a vessel to sail off the Gaza coast, and received an overview of the activity in the Ashdod theater of operations during the fighting. He was accompanied by the commander of the Naval wing, Major General David Sa’ar Salama along with the commander of the Ashdod base, a lieutenant colonel and other commanders.
