Jerusalem’s Municipality on Tuesday concluded its final preparations ahead of a winter storm that is slated to hit the capital on Wednesday afternoon.

The municipality prepared 150 tractors, plows and other machinery to clear the main routes in the city, as well as 250 tons of salt to melt possible icing on the roads.

The city also launched special social services to provide necessary help for those in need.

Jerusalem experiences a significant snowstorm every few years and is usually a cause for great celebration for the city’s residents, but a cause for concern among the city’s emergency services and service providers, who are not always fully equipped to contend with the storm’s effects.
