Allenby crossing

A 35-year-old terrorist from the Judean city of Hebron attacked an Israeli worker on Wednesday at the Allenby border crossing between Israel and Jordan.

The Palestinian Authority attacker tried to strangle the Israeli with a rope, according to the Israel Airports Authority (IAA), which operates the crossing, Ynet reported.

The terrorist was overpowered by IAA security guards at the site and transferred to IDF security personnel, who placed him under arrest and took him into custody.

Footage from security cameras at the crossing shows that the attacker entered the terminal and then began to run towards the worker, whose back was turned while making a phone call outside the building. The worker was seen struggling against the attacker until security guards came to his aid.

The incident is under investigation.
