Israel and the United States have announced the postponement of their much-hyped joint anti-missile military drill due to “technical” reasons.

Neither the White House nor the IDF elaborated on what “logistical” problems delayed the drill, dubbed “Austere Challenge”, but it is thought that a delay of a few months will provide the Obama administration more time to prove that its sanctions regime against Iran are working. Israel Public Radio, citing military sources, reported that the exercises would be delayed to the end of 2012.
