Six-time Olympic medalist and two-time national team captain Aly Raisman told the CBS News program “60 Minutes” in an interview Sunday night in the United States that she was sexually abused by former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar, who also served as the doctor for the Michigan State gymnastics team.

Raisman spoke with FBI investigators after returning from Rio de Janeiro, where she served as captain for the US national team at the 2016 Olympic Games.

She is the third Olympian to allege abuses by Nasser, the second member of the “Fierce Five” U.S. women’s gymnastics team to do so, according to the ESPN sports network.

If convicted Nassar could face a sentence of life in prison. He has already been charged with 22 counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

In a statement issued Friday USA Gymnastics said it took “great courage” for Raisman to speak out and that it was “appalled by the conduct of which Larry Nasser is accused.”
