A traffic circle next to the upcoming new U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem is about to be named for the country it represents, and the American president who had the courage to make good on his campaign promise to bring the embassy to Israel’s capital city.

Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat announced Tuesday that the circle is to be named, “US Square in honor of President Donald Trump.” In a statement released Tuesday, Barkat said, “President Trump has decided to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the Jewish people, to stand on the side of truth, and to do the right thing.

“Naming this square in honor of the president is our way of showing our love and respect for the president and the American people, who always stand by the side of Israel.”

The square is to be formally unveiled next Monday in the presence of the official U.S. Presidential Delegation after the American Embassy in Jerusalem is inaugurated.

The Embassy is to be located in part of the current U.S. Consular building in Jerusalem, in the Arnona neighborhood.
