Israel Stays Sane while World Goes Berserk over Obama’s Dawdling

Friday, August 30th, 2013

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told Israelis Thursday night to stay calm despite the likelihood of a U.S. strike on Syria, reassuring the country, “At present there is no need to change daily routines.”

Following a meeting with defense officials and IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz, the Prime Minister stated on a YouTube video, “Despite the low assessment regarding Israel’s involvement in what is going on in Syria, we decided to deploy Iron Dome batteries as well as our other intercept systems. We are not involved in the civil war in Syria. But I would like to reiterate, if anyone one tries to harm Israel’s citizens, the IDF will respond very strongly.”

IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz said the IDF is “ready for any scenario.”

The calm contrasts with near-panic reaction by some citizens earlier this week when President Barack Obama all but issued a formal invitation to a war, virtually announcing that the United States would attack Syria by Thursday night.

All that was missing on the invitation was, “Please dress accordingly. Black tie optional.”

Britain already had nudged President Barack Obama to go to war, and the President’s aides told news sources that a strike was inevitable. Britain got cold feet and decided maybe it should consult with the House of Commons.

It voted late Thursday night voted 285-272 against the Government’s motion on the principle of military intervention in Syria, and Prime Minister David Cameron, after having previously said a military strike is necessary to prevent future chemical warfare, stated after the vote, “I get that, and the government will act accordingly.”

Now, Obama looks like a jerk after beating the war drums and then losing the drumsticks.

He went out on the limb several weeks ago when he said that he would intervene militarily in Syria if chemical weapons were used. Assad used them again an again, 13 times by one count, but Obama backed off because there was no “conclusive proof” that his loyalists, not the rebels, deployed poison gas.

The came last week’s catastrophe and President Obama’s bravado that made him King for Day in Western media until people started asking questions.

One of them might be no other than the man himself,  who in 2007 quoted a former professor of constitutional law as saying, “The president does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.”

Of course, Obama could say that the security of the United States is threatened by the Assad regime’s use of nerve gas to kill more than 1,000 Syrians.

The Obama administration, like others before, have no trouble declaring that moving the American embassy in Israel to Jerusalem would endanger national security, but the rules of the game change when it comes to Syria.

Russia and China, of course, bitterly oppose the idea of an attack, and Russia sent an anti-submarine ship to the Mediterranean Sea to show its strength. China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated, “External military intervention is contrary to the U.N. charter aims and the basic norms governing international relations and could exacerbate instability in the Middle East.”

Iran, of course, promises to preserve stability by assisting Assad and blow up any U.S. jets that come near Syria, where Assad’s military’s knees are shaking so much that it is hurriedly removing Scud missiles from bases that might be targeted by the United States.

Everyone is trying to show he is stronger than the other, and everyone is threatening the other. Everyone is bluffing, and every government involved in this mess has lost its marbles, except for Israel. Even though Israel stands to lose the most if Assad, who already can be considered off his rocker, decides to use the opportunity of certain death to destroy Israel along the way, it feels secure.

Little Israel is not as nervous as most media makes it out to be. Yes, there were long lines at gas mask distribution centers, but there were even more people shopping at the malls.

Since Israel has a healthy population of Arabs, any poison gas attack will not discriminate between Jews and Arabs, unless it falls smack dab in the middle of Ramallah, where Jews, of course, are not allowed to live.

The biggest problem for Israel is not an American air strike, and it is difficult to see how Obama can get out of it without making the United States look like the worlds’ biggest sissy. The bigger problem will be what Israel faces on the other side of the border after an air strike.

Meet the Monster Behind Syria’s Chemical Weapons

Thursday, August 29th, 2013

The man responsible for producing the poison gas that last week killed approximately 1,000 Syrians, including children, bears a description of a monster from the Nazi regime, whose officers, and a large part of the population, considered themselves to be superior by virtue of their love of fine culture and refined arts, despite the Nazi death machine.

Dr. Amr Najib Armanazi, now 69 years old, routinely visited his children in London, where they studies. He and his wife frequently travel to Washington.

Israel Defense writer Ronen Solomon issued a profile of Armanazi on Thursday, disclosing a chilling resemblance to the same characteristics of Nazi war criminals who could discuss philosophy and understand fine art while engineering the torture and extermination of 6 million Jews.

He has a ”fatherly appearance, with white hair and a pleasant smile,” according to Solomon.

He is in charge of the majestically termed Syrian Scientific Studies and Research Center (SSRC) near Damascus. The name is a euphemism for what could be called “Poison Gas and Chemical Warfare Co. Ltd.

The United States, and Israel, knew years ago that Syria was producing chemical weapons but did nothing to stop it. That was during the era when Washington was convinced that if Israel would simply hand over the Golan Heights to Syria in exchange for a piece of paper saying the countries were at peace, all of the region’s problems would be solved.

It took the U.S. State Dept. until Sept. 9, 2012 to put its stamp of disapproval on Armanazi. It declared, “The SSRC is the Syrian government agency responsible for developing and producing non-conventional weapons and the missiles to deliver them. The SSRC also has a public civilian research function; however, its activities focus on the development of biological weapons, chemical weapons, and missiles. During his tenure, Armanazi oversaw a facility that was involved in the production of sarin nerve agent.

“Amr Armanazi, has engaged, or attempted to engage, in activities or transactions that have materially contributed to… the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction…, including any efforts to manufacture, acquire, possess, develop, transport, transfer or use such items.”

Armanazi, a former computer engineer, has a longtime acquaintance with the Assad family. His father was Syria’s ambassador to several countries, including India and Egypt.

He worked in the 1990s for Assad, who then was managing the Syrian Computer Society, another names that rings of innocence but which developed computer systems for the military.

Armanazi later took over the management of the Scientific research Center, which also was to develop nuclear warheads.

He oversees  thousands of workers who develop and produce chemical weapons, using “immunology laboratories” and “environmental research”  laboratories to perfect materials for genocide.

The manufacturing center for producing Sarin gas and nerve agents is located in northern Syria, according to Solomon, the same region where Israel in 2007 bombed a building that was to serve as a nuclear reactor. It was being built under the guidance of North Korean scientists, who had been in close contact with Armanazi since 2001.

Solomon revealed that Armanazi traveled to Pyongyang several times and helped establish a straw company named “Namchongang Engineering Services” in Damascus, which was a cover for North Korea’s nuclear activities in Syria.

Like the Nazi elite, Armanazi has made himself into an image of a fine, elderly and cultured family man. One of his daughters earned a Masters in Business Administration from the University of London and is senior manager of Nissan in Syria.

One of his sons studied in London for a degree in economics and works there for a bank.

And their father’s legacy is the murder of civilians, including children, by poison gas.

Armanazi’s office is in a complex that includes warehouses for storing chemical weapons.

If the United States attacks Syria, it can be assumed that the cultured Armanazi will be far, far away from his office.

Israelis Buying Gas Masks on eBay

Thursday, August 29th, 2013

A number of Israelis, frustrated by long lines at gas mask distributing centers, have turned to eBay to purchase them for protection in the event of a chemical or gas attack on Israel by Syria.

Security officials have said the likelihood of such an attack is low but nevertheless have opened Home Front Command stations to distribute masks and replace those that are  not out of date. In eBay, some masks sold by suppliers of military surplus equipment, are going for more than $100 each.

Here’s How Kerry, Hillary and Obama Let Assad Get Away with Murder

Monday, August 26th, 2013

Syrian President Bassar al-Assad has fooled everyone for years except himself and Pulitzer Prize journalist Joel Brinkley, who saw the handwriting on the wall two years ago and described him as “the most dangerous man in the world.”

But John Kerry both as Senator during the Bush administration and now as Secretary of State, and Hillary Clinton and President Obama knew better. All you have to do is “engage” the ruthless dictator and he will love you.

That is the way it works in the Middle East 101 at  Foggy Bottom University, but that is not the way it works in the real Middle East.

How did the world get in this mess of a dictator murdering men, women and child before everyone’s eyes while no one does anything about it?

All of the reasons boil down to the fact that no one, including some Israeli officials, can see the Middle East without blinders that reflect wishful thinking.

In 2006,  Kerry was head of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and conducted a “fact-finding “ tour at the same time that it was clear that the Syrian regime was involved in the assassination of nationalists in the government of Lebanon, where Syria had been pulling the strings for years and developed its alliance with Hezbollah.

The Bush administration was not thrilled with Kerry’s imitative but could not openly oppose it. “The administration has their position, and it’s not my job at this point – from here particularly – to make comments about their policy,” Kerry said at the time. “They have their position as the executive branch and we have our position as a separate, co-equal branch of government.”

Even seven years ago Kerry knew better than President Bush’s advisers and stated that the Bush administration’s refusal to talk to Syria and Iran was “a mistake” and “the kind of policy that’s got us into trouble” in the region.

Anyone living in the Middle East knows that once a leading senator comes for friendly talks with one of the wicked men on earth, that means the United States does not have a strong will to isolate and weaken him.

That became even clearer after Obama was elected. The Bush administration had withdrawn its ambassador from Damascus when it was clear that Assad was trying to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes.

The Obama administration wore special glasses.

A reporter covering the State Dept. asked in 2010, “Why are you are reversing the status of diplomacy in Damascus, raising it to full ambassador” at a time when Syria was not cooperating with the IAEA? “Why this holding out of hands to Syria which is equally in contravention of the IAEA, and getting more tough on Iran?”

The State Dept. explained, “Given the issues in the region, we thought it was appropriate to have a representative there full time, to be able to have the kind of discussion and dialogue with Syria that we need, to encourage them where we think they’re taking steps that are positive, and also to continue very direct dialogue…. We clearly want to see comprehensive peace and that would involve progress on the Syrian-Israeli track as well as the other tracks.”

Got it? Israel is the key. Make peace with Israel, and the world will be dandy.

Forcing Israel to surrender land, in this case the strategic Golan Heights, was far more important to the Obama administration than less important things, like  nukes and chemical weapons.

But the State Dept. has an answer for everything.

“We remain concerned about Syria’s nuclear activity,” Crowley said. “They have not explained what was happening at the Al-Kibar reactor. It’s refused to cooperate with the IAEA or account for chemically processed uranium found at two sites. We’re not putting an ambassador into Damascus as a favor to Syria; we’re putting an ambassador in Damascus so we can have the kind of direct conversation and engagement that we think is necessary in the region in the 21st century.

“We are going to have an ambassador there who will engage Syria on the full range of issues, those areas where we think there’s opportunity for cooperation and those areas where we have concerns about Syria’s ongoing activity, whether it’s unexplained nuclear activity, whether it’s support of terrorism, whether it’s the presence of extremist groups in Damascus, whether it’s unhelpful activity that Syria is engaged in with respect to Iraq.”

Cooperation was less than zero. Assad, as Mr. Hyde, brought in weapons from Russia and Iran and stockpiled poison gas while as Dr. Jekyll, he turned on his charm for visiting dignitaries.

In 2011, Hillary Clinton, the Secretary of State until this past January, uttered her infamous “Assad is a reformer” statement three months after the Arab Spring protests began.

After “Face the Nation” host Bob Schieffer noted that Assad’s father had killed 25,000 people during an uprising, Clinton opined that his son was a “different leader.”

After she was criticized for her stupidly naïve remarks, she continued to show her ignorance of the Middle East. “We’re also going to continue to urge that the promise of reform, which has been made over and over again and which you reported on just a few months ago – I’m a reformer, I’m going to reform, and I’ve talked to members of Congress and others about that, that we hear from the highest levels of leadership in Syria – will actually be turned into reality.”

The “reality” show for Syria has been tens and tens of thousands, probably closer to 200,000, tortured, starved, murdered and now gassed.

The Washington Post reported two years ago that President Obama believed that “a peace deal between Israel and Syria would help stabilize the region, [and] over congressional opposition, he returned the ambassador to Damascus.”

Kerry, as head of the Senate Foreign  Relations Committee, showed his credentials to become Secretary of State by having stated, “My judgment is that Syria will move; Syria will change, as it embraces a legitimate relationship with the United States and the West and economic opportunity that comes with it and the participation that comes with it.”

Washington simply could not see Syria’s close ties with Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah. All it could see was the vision of peace with Israel.

Shortly after the “Assad is a reformer” episode, Joel Brinkley wrote for Tribune Media Services that Assad is a “duplicitous dictator…has duped presidents and prime ministers into believing he is their indispensable friend – even as he facilitates the killing of American troops, collects weapons of mass destruction and serves as the supply master for terrorist groups.”

Brinkley said the Obama administration’s views of Assad are “delusional” when considering that “since the Iraq war’s beginning, [Assad] has been the best friend of Islamic extremists transiting into Iraq. They’ve crossed the Syrian border by the busload, in full view of U.S. spy satellites.

“He sells missiles to Hezbollah, the terrorist group in southern Lebanon that is the avowed enemy of Israel and the United States.’

And chemical weapons were not a secret.

Brinkley wrote, “American intelligence shows that Syria has a vast store of chemical weapons.”

The headlines today are as if something new has happened. All of a sudden everyone is an expert on Assad, but everyone has been wrong .

Ehud Barak, as Defense Minister in the Olmert government, was sure that Assad’s days were numbered.

Everyone has said that it is only a matter of time before the rebels beat him down.

The Obama administration blindly let Assad turn into a Frankenstein.

But no matter what happens, President Barack Obama can fall back on the “peace process” to solve the problems of the Middle East.

Israeli Requests for Gas Mask Kits Rise over Syria Fears

Sunday, August 25th, 2013

Requests by Israeli citizens for gas mask kits have risen fourfold in recent days as concern over events in Syria has increased.

Citizens have been visiting post offices throughout the country to pick up their Atomic Biological Chemical protective kits, or ABC kits, over fears of the threat of a chemical weapon attack from Syria or Iran.

Approximately 60 percent of Israelis currently possess gas masks, but  a budget allocation of $362 million is necessary for 2014 in order to equip the remaining citizens, according to reports.

Hundreds of Syrians were killed last week in eastern Damascus suburbs by an alleged chemical weapons attack by the government army.

Obama Rejects Syrian Offer for Inspection, Calling to ‘Too Late’

Sunday, August 25th, 2013

The Obama administration has rejected Syria’ belated offer for the United Nations to inspect the site of a chemical weapons attack last week, saying the evidence already has disappeared, The Wall Street Journal reported.

The quick rejection of the Syrian offer, officially made only hours earlier, are a clear indication that President Barack Obama is ready to act against the Assad regime and perhaps regain its standing as a world leader if it can put a stop to the genocide in Syria.

“If the Syrian government had nothing to hide and wanted to prove to the world that it had not used chemical weapons in this incident, it would have ceased its attacks on the area and granted immediate access to the U.N. five days ago,” the Journal quoted a senior Obama administration official as saying.

The same anonymous official said earlier in the day that there is “little doubt” that Assad’s regime, and not rebels, were behind the chemical attack, apparently nerve gas, which killed anywhere between 300 to more than 1,000 men, women and children.

Nevertheless, U.N. officials plan to inspect the scene of the attack on Monday.

George Galloway Reveals: Israel Behind Chemical Attack (Video)

Sunday, August 25th, 2013

George Galloway, the British pro-Hamas and pro-anything that can destroy civilization, has revealed to the world that Israel supplied Al Qaeda with chemical weapons to use against Syrians in the civil war against the Assad regime.

His accusations came the same week that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused Israel of being behind the military coup in Egypt that ousted Muslim Brotherhood president Mohammed Morsi.

It is nice to know that Israel has so much power. It can engineer the end of a regime in Egypt. It can turn Al Qaeda into a close ally and manipulate it to attack Assad’s loyalists.

Since Israel obviously runs the world, it is clear that Netanyahu is behind the entire peace process show, is manipulating the Boycott Israel movement and is bankrolling the next mayor of New York City, no matter who he will be.

Galloway could be laughed at as a jerk, which he is. No mainstream leader listens to him.

But “mainstream” is becoming an endangered species in Europe, where the growing anti-Zionist and anti-Semitic population will believe anything and everything if Israel comes out stinking. That is why Galloway last year won a surprise victory in a special election to win a seat in the British Parliament, representing a district that has large number of Muslims.

In his speech on Friday, which was posted on a video by the Iranian government’s Press TV, Galloway commented on the chemical attack in Syria.”

He declared, “If there’s been any use of nerve gas it’s the rebels that used it. If there has been a use of chemical weapons it was Al-Qaeda that used the chemical weapons – who gave al-Qaeda the chemical weapons? Here’s my theory, Israel gave them the chemical weapons.”

Well, at least he said it was only a theory. Erdogan went one better, or one worse, by saying he had evidence that Israel was behind the ouster of Morsi. And when the United States rejected his charges, Erdogan followed up on Saturday that he was “saddened” that the White House chose to respond. His comments were directed at Israel and not the Obama administration, he told a crowd in his home town.

“What is it to the White House that it should respond? It should not have mentioned it; it should not had reacted like this. As two members of NATO, that one ally shows this kind of approach to the other is not appropriate.”

Galloway does not need evidence, false or not. All he needs is an audience, and his is growing.
