IDF fighters neutralized a Palestinian Authority terrorist cell on Saturday night as he was attacking an Israeli motorist traveling in Judea near the village of Beit Awwa.

“During an operational activity of IDF fighters to thwart terrorist attacks near Beit Awa village in the Judea region, the soldiers identified three suspects hurling Molotov cocktails at an Israeli vehicle traveling on the highway,” the IDF said in a statement.

“The fighters responded with gunfire and identified a hit on one of the suspects. Two of the other suspects were arrested by the fighters and were transferred to security personnel for interrogation.” The terrorist who was shot later died of his injuries, the IDF said.

“We congratulate the IDF and the fighters of the Yehuda Brigade for their dedication and their activities in maintaining security for the residents of our region,” said Yochai Damri, head of the Har Hebron Regional Council.

“Tonight they killed and arrested terrorists who tried to murder our residents by throwing Molotov cocktails; a terrorist cell that has endangered our residents several times.”
