We can now understand how Avraham could say to Eliezer and Yishmael, “Wait here with the donkey…, We will go and bow down… and we will return.” He had emunah sheleimah, complete faith, that after the slaughter Yitzchak would be revived by our God who loves life, and together they would return to Eliezer and Yishmael.

Thanks to Avraham’s successful test, we, the followers of the One God who loves life, say daily: Our King kills but He will restore one’s life in the future – especially those who died for Kiddush Hashem.

A great afterlife is in store for Eyal, Gilad, and Naftali, HY”D, for our God, Hashem – the only God – truly loves life. May their parents be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Yerushalayim.

  1. The Jews do not take life from innocent people with intent. Civilians get caught up in the cross fire and unfortunately get killed. That is a sad reality of war everywhere. War plays by its own rules, it is cruel to both sides, but it is necessary to defend one’s people from another. War is something we try to avoid at all costs if we can… IF there is a peaceful route… but if there is no way of achieving peace, if our enemies seek only to kill us and walk over our bodies, we will have to fight. And must I stress the number of killings that extremists from your own brethren have caused over a thousand years? And what about the murders of three Jewish boys this past month? You say Jews take away innocent life with intent, we take life from those who seek our destruction.. in self defence. We kill those who try to kill us, and that is what anyone would do if their life is in danger. If civilians die in war, we will grieve and remember them. But we pray for the destruction of those who want to see us dead in the water. Your words are disturbing and false. Do not argue with a wise Rabbi who knows what he is talking about. You have been brainwashed into hating a people that loves life. We did not ask for this conflict to materialise in the first place… Hamas and similar parties asked for it by trying to kill our people. We will defend ourselves and G-d will defend us.
