For the second day in a row, Gaza terrorists opened fire at IDF soldiers operating Wednesday morning near Israel’s southern border with the region.

The soldiers were carrying out routine activities along the security fence bordering southern Gaza when they were targeted by a mortar shell from across the border.

No injuries were reported.

IDF soldiers responded with tank fire aimed at the suspected area of terrorist activity, hitting a Hamas terrorist observation post, according to the Hebrew-language Ynet site.

On Tuesday, Gaza terrorists fired at IDF soldiers and engineers working on the security fence along the northern Gaza border near Nahal Oz. At least one military vehicle was damaged, but no soldiers were injured in the attack.
