Nabil Shaath, a senior PLO official and confidante of PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas, said that Israel dropped the demand that Hamas be demilitarized, due to American pressure, in an interview with the Arabic Ma’an News Agency.

  1. They would be stupid to drop the demand, when the Hamas doesn’t keep cease fires if they don’t want to and always tries to strike first. The US should not be stupid either. Today Israel, tomorrow the sleeper cells in America will wake up.

  2. With friends like this who needs enemies?The Obama Administration is keeping all terror groups alive with interfering in friendly countries policies and foreign aid but not acting on behalf of America either.Strange situation these days.

  3. Israel hasn't dropped anything and hasn't given anything. Whenever the rockets etc from Gaza would cease Israel would stop reacting. Hamas has been desperate to have a 'facesaver' to stop firing and has characterised the last couple of days as a victory. But apart from humanitarian aid being increased and the right to fish a bit deeper they have nothing. The 'Palestinians' are no closer to a State than they were in 1948.
