Security staff at the Azrieli Shopping Mall in Tel Aviv were exceptionally alert on Sunday night when they caught a wannabe terrorist who found a creative way to hide a vicious-looking weapon as he tried to enter the shopping center.

The suspect aroused suspicions when the metal detector picked up the presence of unusual material in his belt.

When security personnel began a more thorough search of the suspect, they discovered that he had found a way to slide the black-colored blade of his knife in between the sides of his belt clasp, thus hiding the weapon entirely, despite the belt itself appearing to be made of cloth.

The suspect was detained and turned over to Israel Police.
