Israeli forces securing the Gaza border on Wednesday night fired at three Arab terrorists who attempted to infiltrate into Israel from the Strip.
The terrorists were carrying knives on their bodies and were apparently planning to carry out an attack in Israel.
According to reports, two terrorists were evacuated to Soroka Medical Center in Be’er Sheva after being shot. One of the wounded terrorists subsequently died of his wounds. A second terrorist was lightly wounded, and a third was arrested.
In related news, IDF and Border Police forces operating throughout Jude and Samaria arrested 13 wanted persons suspected of involvement in terrorist activities and violent disturbances against civilians and soldiers.
In addition, an IDF search for illegal weapons in the Arab village of Hirbat Adir, in the Gush Etzion area, uncovered weapons, a handgun and ammunition.
During an IDF search in Hebron and in the village of Qabatiya in the area of the Menashe Regional Brigade, the troops seized tens of thousands of shekels in funds meant for terrorism.
