The Cave of the Patriarchs is the burial site of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Sarah, Rivka, Leah, Adam and Eve, in Hebron.

Israeli Border Policemen arrested an armed Arab at the entrance to the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron on Sunday morning, after he assaulted one of the troops.

The man refused to go through the security check at the entrance to the holy site and attacked one of the troops manning the checkpoint.

After being overpowered, he was found to be armed with a knife.

The Cave of the Patriarchs has been the site of multiple terror attacks and attempted attacks.
