In response to the partial reopening of Ben Gurion International Airport following the start of a ceasefire with Iran, Israel’s national carrier EL AL Airlines has launched a large-scale emergency airlift operation to bring stranded Israelis home.

The airline is operating around the clock, utilizing its entire fleet to add thousands of seats within a 24-hour period to bring tens of thousands of Israelis back from abroad.

Special rescue flights are scheduled from Budapest and Bucharest for late Tuesday night. Once registered El Al passengers are allocated seats on these flights, any remaining tickets will be released for public booking.

EL AL also confirmed that inbound flight prices will remain capped through the end of June.

The airline added that new routes from Los Angeles are now available for booking online as well.

The news comes as IDF Home Front Command prepares to lift all civilian restrictions on Wednesday pending approval from Defense Minister Israel Katz, if the ceasefire with Iran continues.
