A memorial candle in Tzfat

A major source of strength to Jewish women in the American yeshivishe community, Rebbetzin Shoshana Schechter, z’l, of Brooklyn, New York, passed away Thursday morning after a long illness.

The Rebbetzin is the wife of Rabbi Aharon Schechter, head of the renowned Yeshiva Chaim Berlin in Brooklyn, and member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of Agudat Yisroel of America.

A warm and witty person with an engaging smile, the Rebbetzin was known for her strength of character and her unwavering support for her husband, her children and for those who learned in the yeshiva.

The funeral is being held at 2:15 pm Thursday afternoon at Yeshiva Chaim Berlin on Coney Island Avenue, between Avenues L and M in Brooklyn. The procession will leave the yeshiva at 3:15 pm.

The Rebbetzin will be laid to rest Beth David Cemetery in Elmont NY.
