Hamas Attorney General Ismail Jabir on Monday issued a gag order on publication of information regarding the ongoing investigation into the killing of Hamas leader Mazen Fuqaha last Friday, a move that’s reminiscent of Israeli court imposing such orders on Israeli media in sensitive cases, Ma’an reported.

Hamas has called Fugaha’s killing an Israeli assassination.

According to the order, media outlets, including social media, are banned from quoting anonymous sources or Israeli news outlets regarding the case. The Attorney General and the Hamas Ministry of Interior are the only sources authorized to comment on the case.

Fuqaha was shot with four bullets to the head in southwestern Gaza City on Friday night, by gunmen who used gun silencers. Hamas claimed the assassins were collaborators serving Israel, but has not provided proof to support the accusation.
