  2. You wonder what was going through the minds of the witnesses. Were they representatives of the murdered six million? Links to the hundreds of years of repression and murder? Symbols of the renewal of Jewish life? Fear, pride, gratitude, hope.

    I was born May 16,1943 and it is likely that the events only five years before my birth were of prime importance in directing the rest of my life.
