A beautiful whale shark was spotted Tuesday (July 9) swimming gracefully through the Red Sea waters of the Eilat Coral Nature Reserve, the northernmost shallow water coral reef in the world.

The whale shark is a slow-moving, filter-feeding carpet shark and the largest known extant fish species, holding many records for size in the animal kingdom.
