Israel’s Foreign Ministry on Wednesday morning announced the renewal of diplomatic ties with the Republic of Nicaragua, Central America.

The relations between the two countries were severed following the 2010 Gaza flotilla.

Nicaragua’s foreign office issued a statement saying “both governments attach great importance to the renewal of their relations, in order to promote combined action to the benefit of both nations and to contribute to the struggle for peace around the world.”
