UNRWA officials, such as Chris Gunness, took a report that was very limited in its scope and data and sent out a press release and tweets turning everyone in Gaza into a refugee while blaming baby deaths on Israel. This was then picked up and republished practically verbatim in the mass media.
The real story is that infant mortality rates of Gazan refugees living in UNRWA run camps dropped under Israeli occupation, and rose under Hamas occupation, everything else is speculation, or worse.
