Gaza rioters clash with Israeli forces along the border east of Gaza City on May 11, 2018.

The Izz a-Din al-Qassam military wing of Hamas ordered all demonstrators at the Gaza border and gathered in the tent camps, to evacuate and return to their homes late Monday afternoon, according to a report posted on the Hebrew-language Ynet site.

By 6 pm Monday, at least 43 Gazans had been killed and more than 2,000 were wounded in the violence carried out at the behest of Hamas by “demonstrators” at the border with Israel.

It’s not clear what motivated Hamas to send its operatives home; however, Tuesday is the first day of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, during which time observant Muslims are not allowed to eat or drink during daylight hours.
