The IDF says the 98th Commando Division began renewed activities in northern Gaza this week and is now operating in Gaza City alongside the 162nd Division.
Gazans living in Jabaliya and Gaza City were urged by the IDF to relocate for their own safety to the Al-Mawasi humanitarian safety zone in the southern part of the enclave in an evacuation order issued earlier this week.
The troops are operating in eastern Gaza City, dismantling terrorist infrastructure above and below ground, and eliminating terrorists from the various terrorist organizations in Gaza.
At least 100 terror targets have been struck thus far, including terrorists, weapons storage facilities, operation centers, and enemy observation posts.
Prior to the 98th Division joining the operation, the Israeli Air Force, in coordination with the division’s Fire Control Center, eliminated dozens of terrorists in the area and carried out strikes to enable the ground entry of the division’s troops, including the Commando Brigade and the 7th Brigade.
So far, approximately 100 terror targets have been struck including: terrorists, weapons storage facilities, operation centers, and enemy observation posts.
The US-run Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) is operating four separate aid distribution centers in southern Gaza while successfully managing to prevent Hamas terrorist looters from stealing the aid.
Hamas operatives meanwhile are working hard to dissuade Gazans from cooperating with the American aid organization, including shooting directly at those heading to the GHF distribution centers to pick up their weekly food packages.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to travel to Washington DC next week, where he will meet on Monday with President Donald Trump to discuss the situation in Gaza, negotiations for a deal to release the 50 hostages still held by Hamas, and ongoing issues with Iran.
