Israeli Defense Forces struck two Hamas military positions in Gaza on Sunday.

The forces struck two Hamas observation posts near Khan Younis, in southern Gaza.

The air strike by Israeli attack helicopters came after a large bunch of colorful balloons festooned with glitter and Arabic writing landed in the Sdot Negev Regional Council district.

The pretty balloons were attached to what appeared to be a model airplane, but what actually was a drone, attached to an improvised explosive device (IED).

It was designed to kill any unwary Israeli child or adult who approached the colorful cluster.

The bomb exploded while a police sapper was working to dismantle the device.

This was the third such incident in the past week, one that Sdot Negev Regional Council head Tamir Idan called a “severe escalation.”
