Ayatollah Khamenei

Ayatollah Khamenei addressed participants in the International Islamic Unity Conference, held in Tehran on Sunday, telling them that “Palestine” will win victory on the basis of divine promises, and the Zionist regime of Israel has increasingly lost its power, which he claimed has been obvious, concluding from the length of the wars that Israelis have launched against Hezbollah and “Palestine” in recent years.

Pointing to the US and its allies’ confusion about the growing trend of Islamic Awakening, Iran’s “supreme leader” said the Islamic Republic has become strong and serves as a role model thanks to forty years of resistance.

“The threats and evil move by the US and the Zionist regime will be futile as in the past and will definitely end in failure,” Ayatollah Khamenei stressed.

Khamenei urged Muslim clerics and the social elites to push for the promotion of the Islamic Awakening movement. “Strengthen the Islamic Awakening and resistance movement in the region as much as you can, since the promotion of such thought and morale is the sole way to save the region,” he said.

Regarding Iran’s proxy war against Saudi Arabia in Yemen, Ayatollah Khamenei said, “Despite all hardship and crimes that people of that country (Yemen) are suffering from the actions by Al Saud, its allies and their supporting government, namely the US, victory will be definitely for the Yemeni nation and Ansarullah (the pro-Iranian militia in Yemen).”

Meanwhile, the Iranian Statistical Center has announced that the inflation rate in Iran for the period between October 23 and November 22 has risen by 34.9% compared to the same period last year. It means that Iranian families have spent about 35% more on the same goods and services as they had done in the same period in 2017.

The center’s itemized report shows a 50.3% rise in the prices of foodstuff, beverages and tobacco compared to the prices of the same goods in the same period in 2017. The highest overall price hike was for tobacco products – 160%.

Which is probably why the supreme leader did not open his talk with the usual, “Smoke ’em if you got ’em.”
