Transportation Minister Bezalel Smotrich has entered quarantine at his home after discovering that a person with whom he met on Tuesday, March 17, was diagnosed Saturday evening with the COVID-19 coronavirus.

Smotrich said he will be in isolation until Friday, March 31 and until that point, will continue instead to work from home in the Jewish community of Kedumim.

“Together, God willing, we will get through this complex period,” Smotrich said in a statement. “I urge the citizens of Israel to adhere to the Health Ministry guidelines and wish them all a refuah sheleyma (complete recovery). I will continue to work remotely from home and will support the government and ministry efforts in that manner.

“Have a good week.”
