The Rabbi Emeritus of the White Shul (Congregation Kneseth Israel) in Far Rockaway, New York, Rabbi Raphael (Ralph) Pelcovitz has passed away.
Rabbi Pelcovitz z’l, was known to countless people in the Jewish community, well beyond those in his synagogue, where he served as spiritual leader since 1951.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, and his children: Ethel Gottlieb, Judy Griebetz, YU Professor of Psychology and Jewish Education Rabbi Dr. David Pelcovitz, and Yeshiva Chaim Berlin Rabbi Nochum Pelcovitz.
The funeral for Rabbi Pelcovitz z’l in Israel is scheduled for 2:30 PM on Thursday (following the arrival of LY 002 (scheduled to arrive at 12:20 PM) at the Shamgar Funeral Parlor.
Shiva is being held at 781 Caffrey Avenue, Far Rockawy, from Friday morning through Tuesday morning.
