The headquarters belonging to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) was among multiple targets struck in Tehran on Monday. Hundreds of IRGC forces were eliminated, according to IDF Spokesperson Brigadier General Effie Defrin.
Some 50 Israeli warplanes dropped more than 100 munitions Monday afternoon on missile and radar production sites, missile storage facilities, and other strategic targets in the Iranian capital in just two hours.
Defense Minister Israel Katz told journalists that the following sites were also struck:
• Thar-Allah Headquarters, a major command center of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was designated to defend Tehran from security threats, including internal threats;
• Sayyid al-Shuhada Corps, another prominent branch of the IRGC, is responsible for homeland defense and the suppression of internal threats;
• General Intelligence Directorate of the Internal Security Forces, responsible for supervising the employees of the internal security wing and oversees the supervision and control of information and media of the organization (surveillance, cyber monitoring, and censorship enforcement);
• Basij paramilitary security force headquarters, one of the IRGC’s central armed bases of power. Alongside its other functions, it is also responsible for enforcing the Islamic law and reporting civilians who violate it to the regime authorities;
• Alborz Corps, responsible for the security of several cities in the Tehran District from various threats and for maintaining the regime’s stability, was struck, along with the Intelligence and General Security Police under the Internal Security Forces;
• Evin Prison, where political prisoners and opponents of the regime are tortured and held;
• ‘Israel Destruction Clock’ in Palestine Square; and
• Other regime targets.
“The IDF is now attacking with unprecedented force regime targets and government repression bodies in the heart of Tehran,” Katz said.
“For every shot fired at the Israeli home front, the Iranian dictator will be punished, and the attacks will continue with full force. We will continue to act to protect the home front and defeat the enemy until all war goals are achieved.”
