Watch history in the making as Israel’s Beresheet spacecraft launches upon its historic mission to the moon. The journey to the surface of the moon is expected to take eight weeks.

JewishPress.com readers are invited to watch LIVE ONLINE as the robotic lunar lander lifts off atop a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. The event is scheduled to take place at 8:45 pm EST (03:45 am on Friday Feb. 22 Jerusalem time)

One can also view the flight via a live webcast on Facebook, broadcasting a live stream from the Israeli Aerospace Industries center in Yehud. “After the launch, our crew will take control of Beresheet and begin the journey to the moon!”
