The Red Alert incoming rocket alert siren activated at around 5:46 am Thursday morning in the Sha’ar Hanegev and Sdot Negev Regional Council districts, sending tired families scrambling for their bomb shelters with mostly sleeping children.

Two rockets were launched from northern Gaza, local sources said. The projectiles exploded in open areas in the Sha’ar Hanegev Regional Council district. No physical injuries were reported, and there was no property damage.

Nearly three hours earlier, Israeli combat pilots struck Hamas terrorist targets in Gaza in retaliation for a number of incendiary and explosive balloon attacks launched from the enclave at Israeli territory on Wednesday.

Several large fires broke out in the Eshkol Regional Council district as a result of the arson balloons flown into Israeli territory by Hamas.
