Last month, the Monsey chapter of Satmar Bikur Cholim ran its annual summer fundraising event in an evening reception hosted by Debbie Rausman at their home on Herschel Terrace.

Guests enjoyed an inspiring program and were treated to a buffet of delicacies in an outdoor setting where the ambiance was reflective of the big-heartedness of the hosts.

The guest of honor at this summer’s event was Mirel Kiselnik of Auction Mart; the Kesser Shem Tov award was granted to Sara Halperin l’ilui nishmas her mother, and Carol Feldheim served as a MC.

Leah Rubashkin, the featured guest speaker, tugged at the hearts of her listeners as she spoke of her family’s untoward predicament and of her consequential need to adjust to being at the receiving end when all of her life she was accustomed to being a giver.

In her calm and hopeful demeanor, Rubashkin communicated her message of emunah and bitachon and her own faith in Hakadosh Baruch Hu. In fact, on the day of the party she received word that her husband was being transferred close to Monsey.

Interestingly, supporting Satmar Bikur Cholim has helped many people in various aspects of their lives (this is a brachah from the Alter Satmar Rebbe, z”l). For instance, one couple, Nuttie and Debbie Rausman, celebrated the engagement of their daughter just a week after opening their home and their hearts to the cause of Bikur Cholim.

Tax-deductible contributions can be sent to Satmar Bikur Cholim, Monsey Chapter, 11 Herschel Terrace, Monsey, NY 10952. Every dollar counts and every cent is allocated to easing the burdens and plights of those in need of assistance.
