The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that a massive blast has destroyed a Syrian air defense base near the coastal city of Latakia. Syrian and Lebanese sources speculate that it was caused by an Israeli rocket strike from a naval vessel in the Mediterranean.
The Syrian Observatory and Twitter users quoted eyewitnesses who said the blast occurred near Snobar Jableh, just south of Latakia.
The Lebanese government news agency reported six Israeli aircraft flying through Lebanese airspace along the coast north of Beirut yesterday.Jewish Press News Briefs
