Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu communicated to President Barack Obama Tuesday “heartfelt condolences” following the massacre at the U.S. Navy Yard in Washington on Monday.

“On behalf of the people of Israel, please accept following the tragedy at the Washington Navy Yard,” he wrote. “We extend our deepest sympathies to the families of the victims of this heinous crime, and we pray for a speedy recovery for the injured.
