It is not clear what really is on the “verge of extinction” except for the existence of a connection between “Jews” and “Jerusalem,” which Arab propaganda says never existed.

Another of CNN’s sins of omission is its failure to state that the Islamic Waqf, subject to Jordan, manages the Temple Mount.

If the Old City ever was on the verge of extinction, it was during the Jordanian occupation of the Old City from 1949 and 1967, when Jordan continued to destroy Jewish sites and barred Jews from visiting holy sites. Jordan also barred Christians from their holy sites, except when it was politically correct to do so when a foreign dignitary visited.

Part of the Old City still is on the verge of extinction by virtue of the Muslim authorities’ systematic removal of hundreds of tons of dirt that contain artifacts providing evidence of the Jewish Temples.

In 1967, when all of Jerusalem was restored to Israeli sovereignty, still not recognized by the United Nations or even the United States, Israel passed the Preservation of the Holy Places Law, ensuring protection of the Holy Places against desecration, as well as freedom of access

Since 1967, Israeli excavations have uncovered archaeological sites dating back 2,000 years and more, but CNN somehow thinks that the architecture of the Old City now is on “the verge of extinction.”
