The Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) released gag order Thursday and revealed that two Palestinian Authority Arabs have been arrested for the murder of a 70-year-old Jewish farmer south of Tel Aviv last month.

Police had claimed that the murder was carried out by criminals who tried to rob David Bar-Kapara of Rehovot and who was their employer and whom they knew was carrying a large amount of cash.

The two suspects were identified as Mujahid and Ala Assi, both 21 years old from the Palestinian Authority village in Beit Lakia in Samaria.

Security officials still insist that the suspects murdered the elderly farmer only after he resisted an attempt to rob him but also admitted that there were overtones of terror in the murder.

One of Bar-Kapara’s sons told Voice of Israel radio (Reshet Bet) that the murderers were terrorists. They explained that the killers have been involved in terror and that could easily have stolen his vehicle, worth more than $25,000 and other equipment instead of simply trying to rob money from him.

The murderers, who were working illegally for Bar-Kapara, have previously been involved in rock-throwing terror. They beat the farmer to death in his vineyard.

The Shin Bet said that the suspects attempted only to rob, and not kill, their victim but added, “Their involvement in terror prior to the murder and the rise in terrorist attacks during the month of Ramadan must be taken into account.”
