“Together with his comrades, Aviv fought with determination and heroism against terror from the Gaza Strip. To our sorrow, this struggle sometimes claims a price that is heavy for us to bear. Our hearts are with the family,” the PM concluded.

In response to the severe shooting attack against IDF soldiers, Israeli Air Force fighter jets conducted a wide-scale attack on Hamas terror targets throughout the Gaza Strip. Among the targets were weaponry warehouses, equipment storage, training facilities, observation posts, command and control rooms, the battalion’s operation room, the battalion commander’s office, and additional infrastructure. During this operation, the IDF struck 15 military targets located in a Hamas battalion headquarter in the northern Gaza Strip.

IDF fighter jets struck an additional 25 military targets located in a Hamas battalion headquarter in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip. In addition, a UAV warehouse, aerial defense systems, observation posts, and a factory used for underground infrastructure manufacturing were also targeted.

In addition to the riots near the security fence, three projectile launches were identified from the Gaza Strip as sirens sounded in the Sha’ar Hanegev and Sdot Negev Regional Councils.
