The IDF says that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force Commander Qassem Soleimani personally led the attempt to attack northern Israel with kamikaze killer drones this weekend.

But Israel is largely unimpressed, and now plans to “pull out the teeth of the snake,” warned Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz in an interview on Sunday with the Hebrew-language Ynet news site.

“[IRGC] Quds Force operatives and Shiite militias tried to launch an armed drone at Israeli targets from the [Syrian] village of Erne,” wrote IDF Arabic-language spokesperson Lt.Col. Avichay Adraee in a post on the Twitter social networking site.

“We tracked them, saw them, confused them and thwarted their plans,” Adraee wrote.

Moreover, Israel now plans to end the ability of the Islamic Republic to carry out other attacks, Katz warned.

“Israel is acting to strike the head of the Iranian snake and pull out its teeth,” Katz told Ynet.

“Iran is the head of the snake, and Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the Revolutionary Guards Quds Force, is the snake’s teeth,” Katz explained.
