The Jewish people does not remain steeped in sorrow; rather they use their tears to purify themselves, as in the waters of a mikveh, and something new and vibrant emerges, testifying to the spirit of the Jewish people.

The Neharot Etana mikveh was dedicated in Adar, a time when we are supposed to increase our joy. Alan remarked that she indubitably planned it this way. But Jews have done so throughout the millennia, creating joy by transcending sorrow through inspiration and initiative.
